TranslateFamily Child Care Home Education Network
Family Child Care Home Education Networks (Fcchen) are programs funded by the California Department of Education (Cde) to provide high-quality education based subsidized child care and support services to eligible families. Children are cared for in contracted licensed family child care homes that meet strict standards for quality set forth by the Cde.
Network staff with backgrounds in child development visit the child care homes regularly to monitor the development of each enrolled child using the Desired Results Developmental Profile (Drdp). The results of the completed Drdp's are shared with parents and providers and used to help develop age-appropriate learning plans and curriculum. Referrals for children in need of additional assistance, such as speech therapy or behavioral consultation, are offered when needed.
