Living with Diabetes
You can control your diabetes and make a difference in your health. Living with Diabetes education program teaches:
- The basics of diabetes care
- How to eat and exercise to keep blood sugar and blood pressure under control
- How to prevent diabetes complications
The program includes a one hour personal visit with a diabetes educator, four 2.5 hour classes and a follow-up refresher class.
Living with diabetes uses a peer-led group format to promote physical activity and healthful eating practices, using culturally relevant materials and measures.
